Handling “I’m not buying today”

According to most car dealers, the most frequently heard objection is “I am just looking” or I am not buying today. I talked to a car dealer and this is the dealer’s response to the objection. “I am not buying today” or am “I am just looking”. “Well that’s okay, you know most people don’t buy their first time through. What most people do is, they will come in, they will pick out a car and they will come back tomorrow, or next week some other time and buy the car” The car dealer says that what has been archived here is an agreement to pick out a car and get a price on it. These are the two things needed to sell a car.
